1-3-2-4
Does anyone know what the stock front and rear sway bars are for the 95 Legacy L Wagon? looking to upgrade.. and I'f I'm right the larger the more oversteer? I'd need to change out all the bushings when I do change sway bars. Is it 19mm front and 15 mm rear? Edited August 29, 2010 by 1-3-2-
hankosolder2
A larger rear bar will lessen understeer/ increase oversteer. A larger front bar will increase understeer/ reduce oversteer. An easy way to conceptualize it is that the end with the stiffer bar will be doing more of the cornering "work" and thus those tires will slide first. Lots of people get this backwards and think that since a bar improves handling, you put a stiffer bar on the end of the car you want to help. I think (but don't know for sure) that the stiffness is some sort of square law deal (i.e. if you increase the OD of the bar by 50% the roll stiffness will increase by 75% or something.) Fairtax4me
I found a nice graph somewhere once, (I wanna say it was on Whiteline's website) that showed the relation between size and stiffness of various sway bar sizes. Thought so http://www.whiteline.com.au/docs/bulletins/010barup.pdf Edited August 29, 2010 by Fairtax4me
