No Lights No Heat

i have a 85 Brat E81 4spd 4wd Hi-Lo* 160k ...when i turn on the head lights the blower motor for the heat a/c stops ... works find with head lights off but as soon as i turn them on it stops... with the park lights on the blower works, i have checked all fuses and grounds ... all seems good... Pls HELP !!! the weather is changing here in Atlanta and it sure would be nice to have heat on my way to work i the AM :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Something might be badly shorted or miswired in your wiring loom. Not going to be an easy fix I don't think unless you know what you're doing or have changed something recently.

 

When the headlights are on the second slimline radiator fan should cut out if it is on, no matter whether it was tripped from the thermoswitch or whether the a/c is on. With park lights the fan is on, full headlights the fan cuts out.

 

Start there and check your circuits for visible problems.

I had something similar on my first brat , it was the battery cable. Either a glaze inside the clamp or corrosion on the connection- can't remember which.
