codes

My 98 legacy outback wagon is running really bad with no power. how can I pull the codes to help me find the trouble?

I'm guessing you don't have a code reader. The easiest thing for you to do, is just stop at Advanced Auto or Auto Zone, they'll read the codes for free and print them out for you. Once you get them printed out, post them on here and we'll help you out.

dont have enough power to make it to advence. need to get codes and try to find out what they mean so I can start changing parts

Brico, if you know of anyone or maybe consider asking for help via craigslist or something. Also consider purchasing a reader, about $20-$250+ on amazon, just depends on all the bells and whistles you'd like one to include.

matbe we can help with the problem.

any recent work done?

lots of folks are willing to help, more info please. it is doubtful you are the first person here to have whatever problem you have.

i'd pull the timing covers on each side and check the timing marks on the cams.
