Cooling fan not turning on

Featured Replies

I have an 82 Brat and my cooling fan is not turning on and it is overheating unless I am moving at a good speed. I just connected the fan directly to the battery and it works fine. The haynes manual has very limited info on the thermo switch and before I order parts I wanted to verify that it is the culprit. I just need to know where the switch is and if I can check its operation.

Thanks

It is located on the radiator above the drain. If it is green or clearly oxidized it is probably done for. you can however hotwire it with switched power so it is on all the time with the key. I don't really like that much but I have a car like that now.

It's fixed, just forty buck for a temp switch from Napa, works like a champ now.
