November 8, 201015 yr Timing Belt. Maybe. Kinda has that compression leaking sound when it cuts off. What year is it? Looks like a 2.5? Any smoke in the exhaust?
November 8, 201015 yr Author No Smoke. Should be a 2.2. I havent seen it in person yet. Has to be a 2.2, its an older Legacy.
November 8, 201015 yr Looks like 2.5 or a later 2.2 Nah, there is no EGR valve. It's not a 2.5 But based on the Intake and lack of MAF sensor it is likely a 98 or 99. So it is an interference 2.2. I'd pull the covers and inspect before running it at all even for a second.

Older ones had the filter mounted on the passenger fender, and had a MAF sensor. It's at least 97. From other ppls posts looks like it's still a 2.2, just not the good 2.2. :-\
