Looking for some 1600 series high compression that will fit a e81

I just discussed this via PM with another member. It seems that the EA 71 pistons and EA 82 pistons will fit. I have been convinced that EA 82's are the way to go since they will start me out at around 9.5:1.

Do have any numbers on that set of piston

No numbers yet, I think it would be fairly simple to find those through any parts supplier that carries soobie parts. I plan to look up a few vehicles that came with the EA 82 engine. Loyales seem to be one of the common models.

What year of loyal should I look for on the piston

your highest compression pistons are going to be 9.5 in mpfi non turbo xt and maybe a rare gl-10 or special order gl. you will want to look for xt's for 1997.

 

or, if ordering pistons from a supplier, specify 87 xt non turbo mpfi

 

otherwise, all of the spfi pistons will be 9.0 from 1986 gl-10 and 87.5 and up gl/dl/loyale with SPFI
