alanduq
Bought a door lock remote from Whitney but can not figure out how to connect it even with the directions. Best place would be the inside of the door but believe they are suggesting the kick plate fuse area. 1999 outback legacy. it is the keyless entry model 6rt. Needs 2 power wires (ground and +12v). Plus needs to be connected to the switch or 2 wires from it. They are assuming 3 wire negative hookup. Not totally sure what that means as I could find nothing negative in my voltage readings and nothing close to 12 volts in the door wiring only 4.5. I am measuring from ground. Can someone tell me exactly which color wires and where. Hopefully I don't have to disassemble the fuse box area.

alanduq
I brought the car in to the subaru dealer for repairs and they told me I had to go to a offsite repair location as they do not do modifications. It would cost about 300 dollars to get the remote door lock installed there. Maybe I did not specify my car model well enough as I did not know it made difference but I was referring to a 99 legacy outback wagon. If you still believe it has a fob available can you tell me how to verify this? If not is there an easy way to add a remote.
