ABS Light On

Featured Replies

Hi guys i have a 97 Subaru Legacy Outback 2.5 that has problems with the abs. light goes on and off, When i hit the brakes it makes Noises at the front like crazy and the brake pedal goes all the way down, i bled all the brake lines but no air came out of it. when light is on it brakes without no problems when the light goes off hell breaks loose any Suggestions?

How are the brake pads? Is the fluid in the reservoir low?

Brakes may be bad AND there may be something else going on, possibly the alternator. If the alternator is wonky, the engine is running off the battery, and the ABS computer isn't getting the correct power to work properly, thus activating the ABS light. So, check brake pads and fluid levels and if still an issue, have the alternator checked for free at Autozone and proceed accordingly.
