85 ignition removal

Featured Replies

Has anyone else had issue with their ignition breaking? Not the module, but the actual ignition where the key goes in?

I took mine apart and now am starting it from the backside. Anyone can steal it now so I am trying to get it replaced, heres the question.

As i look at the column all I see is a metal clamp type thing that holds whats left of the ignition on. How does this come off? Or does anyone know the best way to replace an ignition? Switch whole stearing column, a certain tool to remove clamp etc...

Thanks

That clamp will have 2 headless bolts. Use a left-handed drill bit and they will easily come out. just replace the entire ign assembly. Just use regular bolts to replace the "security" bolts.
