Here is a pic of my PCV setup:

I think I have it correct, with the 1/4" line separating the two sides. However, I have noticed that air is coming OUT of the filter connection, rather than going in. I checked ye olde Haynes manual, and the air flow direction definitely looks like it should be going INto the valve covers and PCV valve. Did I do it right?

At idle you should feel a bit of a pulse.

 

At revs you should feel a bit of suction.

 

 

If you are getting flow OUT of the filter connection, the PCV valve is probably bad.
