June 29, 201114 yr I have some codes on my car and 2 of them are o2 sensors and idk how hard they are to get out or to reach does anyone have any diagrams of where they are
June 30, 201114 yr They are easy, if you get the stock plug Subaru Sensors. If you live in the rust belt, use some PK Blaster and soak the threads a few days before you want to change them. Get a 7/8" tubing wrench or the special O2 sensor socket and remove the old one and put the new one in. You have one on the front cat, just behind the axle on the passenger side and one on the rear cat under the car. You might want to clear the codes and see if they come back. I'd start with the front O2 sensor and then see if you need the rear one as well.
July 1, 201114 yr Author On top of my 2 o2 sensors I need a map sensor as well...does any one know where I can get one at a decent price? Thanks in advance
July 2, 201114 yr Author Thanks lmdew and I got another question for anyone who knows where on the manifold is the map sensor?
July 2, 201114 yr Over on the passenger side strut tower on the front side. Look at your emissions sticker on the inside of the hood.
July 2, 201114 yr Here's a little insight on how hard the o2 sensor is to replace. My dad and I had quite the ball trying to do the front o2 sensor on my 99 Legacy SUS. Oh, and we live in the rust belt which doesn't help. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=124115
