Harsh Shriek on hard left or right turns.

Wondering about a shrieking sound I get on my 2000 Legacy Outback. Anytime when the wheel is cut very hard right or left (Usually when parking) i get a nice loud squeal. Sounds similar to a fan belt shriek but I don't see how steering would make a belt shriek. Has me confused. Any ideas?

power steering belt squeal. could need a new belt or tightening or maybe a new power steering pump. but these pumps don't fail very often.

See if it happens more with the lights on high beams, the rear defrost on, and the fan blowing at max. If it squeels more, you need a belt or it tightened.
