I have this CRC throttle body & air-intake cleaner can it be used to clean off the surface of a flywheel?

It would probably cut the grease pretty well but it will leave a residue. You need something that dries without an oil film left behind. Brake cleaner works best.

Since I got a little paranoid I went ahead and washed it in soap and water really well.. Just sitting in the box now I wont install it until Monday or Tuesday.

Soap sometimes will leave a residue. I would rinse it off with some 99% rubbing alcohol or brake cleaner or something that evaporates and leaves no residue. You should probably be fine, but I always rinse everything that might be picky to residues off in alcohol to make sure there is no residue. Let us know how it goes!

I have to go to the auto store today to get a 18 in long extension so I will be picking up some brake cleaner anyways.

brake cleaner does work best for sure. If you do use something else, ie- carb cleaner, soap'n'water...that's fine, but wipe it down with rubbing alcohol after to remove any residue. it's cheap, and works good
