My daughter has a 91 loyale with a 5 spd D/R tranny in it. We had originally converted it from an automatic. She has started having problems getting it to go in and out of second gear, but all of the other gears are fine. Does anyone have any insight as to what I might be dealing witha and just how difficult it might be to fix? I have access to a ton of tools and a shop so the repair will be done by me, but I may need some guidance in the process.

sounds like a synchro is going out. most of my soobs have had that problem. 2nd gear here too

Only one response? I know that thee are lots of guys out ther with a wealth of knowledge to give me some advice.

 

Are the synchros hard to replace and does anyone have an exploded view of the tranny that I can use for repair purposes?
