October 23, 201114 yr Tried doing a search and couldn't get past the search engine so I'm posting here for info regarding the shifter indicator light and how to get the cover off. The couple of net searches I did came up with different years or models.

The couple of net searches I did came up with different years or models. I changed mine on the '99 Forester which is probably similar to yours. The shift cover did not have to come apart; the surround console was removed and the bulb is easy to feel and twist out from underneath.

October 24, 201114 yr Author Yes and Its easyI'll go out and take a look at it in a little bit. If I can get it figured out then maybe I can pickup a bulb in town tomorrow.
