Hi, Everyone! Just got my first Subaru (a Freebie!!!!), so I thought I would sign up here. Looks like a great place to hang out & get some great info, & maybe someone to go wheelin with up here in the wilds of eastern WA. The Sube I got needs new rings, but it doesnt look all that tough to do, thankfully. Its an 83 GL Wagon with air, electric mirrors & windows, and dual range 4wd. This is gonna be fun!!

Welcome to the group. You're fortunate to get a solid car to work on. The early '80s EA81 cars are among the most reliable that Subaru ever built. Certainly worth investing time and money in. Good luck.

.......The Sube I got needs new rings.....

Welcome..... Love the "free" and love the older roo's.

I've got multiple '84 roo's, each with 200,000+ miles plus....

not questioning need for rings nor your ability to diagnose but that usually is the last thing they need..... these are tough little motors. Of course I just ignor that one low head pressure and the bloody things just keep running!

Post questions in the "older Generation Subaru sections" with pics...
