The time of year is now. when everyone.........

Featured Replies

The time of year is now, when everyone complains of getting worse mpg, gas mileage, petrol useage, etc.

Nobody seems to figure in the time the engine is running,m warming up, defrosting the windows while the ODO is not moving.

Car is running, so it is using gas. But the MPG seems down, but it is not really down as much as you think.

Also, winter blend gas....bad.

ethanol bad.

long live the Subaru winter warriors.

just remember this post before searching or posting about bad mpg in the winter.

Any car idling to defrost the windows, is getting ZERO MPG, yes 0 mpg.....so of course you must think.

This is the time of year that everyone crashes, being the first cold rain or snow for the season.

I just filled up my ride to see how long it lasts. I used premium fuel and paid 50 bucks for it. But so far i just drove 40 miles in town and the needle barely moved. I chose premium because the hitachi smells like varnished gas, and there is some slight pinging at lowest rpms, and i just got this car and haven't done any of my magical things to it yet. And there was a 10 vehicle crash on the highway, because it rained today.

IT also takes a little more effort to push the tires through snow affecting fuel economy.

my car doesn't run in the mornings, i scrape the windows, toss the kids in and away we go.. we have coats..

and even if i use the non ethanol super i still get 20mpg :(
