November 13, 201114 yr 95 is close and you can get that here: http://www.main.experiencetherave.com/subaru_manual_scans/ Some of the wiring is different, mostly just different wire colors, but I did notice a few differences in the ECU pinouts.

May 17, 201510 yr I can't get the service manual links to work. Any other links or options. My window switch in my 96 Legacy is failing and it is about to rain. Have to fix the switch and get window closed.
May 17, 201510 yr The service manual won't help you with that. They don't cover disassembly of any switches. Easiest will be to jumper wire 12v direct to the motor plug. Ground the opposite pin in the plug.
May 17, 201510 yr I wanted the wiring at the connector. switch was grounding it, so I gave a wire 12v and got it closed. Working on the stupid switch now.
May 17, 201510 yr If you go straight to the motor there are only two wires so its easy to figure out. Do the other windows work from the main switch?
May 17, 201510 yr Yes. Pretty sure it is an issue with the contact. the toggle was missing when I bought it and the Auto one is physically different than the rest. They have all been pulled from the junkyard so I have been trying to make it work. the contacts were all carboned up last time. i cleaned them and hot glued another toggle on. Lasted a little while, but there has always been an issue with going up from that switch.
May 17, 201510 yr Yeah, Probably the switch. I've seen damaged wiring where it comes into the door by the hinge, and corrosion inside the main door connector down behind the kick panel, but both of those places usually affect operation of all 4 windows.
May 18, 201510 yr several of the 12v contacts had carboned up. I could see them arc as they opened as well. I got it working but I don't know for how long.
May 18, 201510 yr If you still have the door panels off lubricate the tracks and the regulator for the window. If the motor is having to work too hard it can burn the contacts in the switch.
