Aftermarket mats?

Featured Replies

Not really "tech question", but I couldn't find a better category...

Winter is here and I still have to find a decent set of mats for my '99 OBW. I'm looking ideally for rubber mats with deep grooves, something that can hold a good amount of snow, but nothing seems to fit correctly without cutting into the grooves holding the snow, which would defeat the entire purpose of the mats in the first place.

I know about the WeatherTech but I can't really justify putting $100+ mats on this car.

Subaru offers rubber mat sets, they're actually reasonably priced, $40-50 for a set of 4 depending on vehicle. I think my '00 obw came with a set. They aren't super deeply grooved, but they seem reasonable, unless you're planning to keep goldfish in them.

I just use those large black contractor trash bags, then when it is dirty enough, I just take it out carefully and dispose.

$40 I can do... :)

Unfortunately it looks like Subaru doesn't make them anymore for the '99 :(

I'd love to hear about alternatives...
