Looking at picking up spare 4wd drive train parts for the SubaruHummer. Summer is made out of an 82 Hatch. I took about 18" out of my drive line.

 

Will the driveline of a 4sp bolt to the 5sp tranny/diff?

 

Are both the front and rear 5sp axles the same as the 4sp?

 

Does the 5sp tranny have the same mounting points as the 4sp?

 

Are the 4sp and 5sp first gear ratios the same?

 

What I'm getting at is, will a 5sp be a reasonable parts car for an 82 Hatch?

Hey Glenn This is Jerry, that's a no brainer the 5 speed. When you get one installed in your car you will notice the differeance. The 5 speed has the same bolt patteren as the the 4 speed and axles are the same and the drive line is the same spline. The mounts are different. Come out to the show this year and you can see 1 or 2 of my cars with the 5 speeds in them. Thanks Jerry
