New BRAT owner Portland

Featured Replies

Hello!

I just purchased my first Subaru! A 1979 BRAT. Love it so far, but am learning that keeping her going and making her look good are going to be a serious labor of love. Any advice/helpful tips are welcome! Thanks!

My advice is to make really good friends with GeneralDisorder (a mega-poster on this board). He has been my mentor since buying my BRAT and discovering USMB. His shop is in Weat Linn and he knows EVERYTHING. A really great guy too. Discount Import Parts in Milwaukie is a great place for parts and Lithia Subaru in Oregon City is your friend. USMB will pretty much be your new religion. :D

buy a welder for the rust and also get 2 new front c/vs and 2 new rear shocks.(these cars always need those) change the oil and enjoy!
