hesitation when accelerating

Featured Replies

I just changed the plugs and wire. I rebuilt the carb just a few days before. Now my 1987 gl is hesitating when I take off or rev it, not real bad but just long enough to tell.

My old plugs were gapped at .050, I gapped the new one to .040( like the Haynes book said). Not sure if that matters.

I don't know where to start on this, I am not sure if its the carb out of tune or the new plug/wires.

I'm sure you already did, but double check all of your vacuum lines. I know I've missed one or two on multiple occasions. Also, make sure they're not split.

Also, did you make sure the accelerator pump was working?

I took this pic before taking everything a part, I can't seem to find the a home for the red one, I think that is goes to the air box but I can't find any blank hose spots.
