March 2, 201214 yr I'm schooling in automotive mechanics, but I've never done a job like this. I'm replacing the clutch on my 1996 Subaru Impreza 5 spd 1.8l I know it's easiest to pull the engine, but what's my first move?

Undo motormounts and bolts connecting engine to tranny. Disconnect exaust from heads. ^^^ No real particular order Yank engine. Put in your new clutch and do it all backwards.
