Working on replacing one of my axles and not sure how to get the bearinsg off. the manual I have says to hit it with a brass hammer but I can't get a good hit in without feeling like im going to destroy the seal. Should I go up to oreilly's and borrow a bearing puller or something?

The seals have to come out to get the bearings out.

 

It's best to have them pressed in by a machine or axle shop. I've see lot's of hammer jobs fail in short order and you are back putting in bearings again.

Did you still need the axle I have?

Thanks for the info! Did that one have the bearings? Will probably still buy it from you so I can have a spare, when are you free?

The axle does not have the bearings, the hub does.

 

We have been going back and forth so long...better call me.
