April 26, 201213 yr Working on replacing one of my axles and not sure how to get the bearinsg off. the manual I have says to hit it with a brass hammer but I can't get a good hit in without feeling like im going to destroy the seal. Should I go up to oreilly's and borrow a bearing puller or something?
April 28, 201213 yr The seals have to come out to get the bearings out. It's best to have them pressed in by a machine or axle shop. I've see lot's of hammer jobs fail in short order and you are back putting in bearings again.
April 30, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the info! Did that one have the bearings? Will probably still buy it from you so I can have a spare, when are you free?
April 30, 201213 yr The axle does not have the bearings, the hub does. We have been going back and forth so long...better call me. Todd
