My ac turned itself into a heater

My fiancé borrowed my car and turned the heater on this morning. Now when I turned the ac this morning it still blows heat. The compressor still turns on and all the ac lines are Ice cold, but for some reason the vents belch out the furnace of hell from my vents. Wtf is going on?

Also, car is a 90 Legacy LS FWD.

 

I checked to see if the vent selector was shot and it's not. Could the temperature adjustment inside the control unit perhaps have "broken" and it's stuck in the hot position?
