Featured Replies

can i jus take out my ac compressor, belt, and idler pully thing and not affect my engine negatively? it looks like a easy removal and just eliminates a belt but im not entirely sure so im curious

yes. if you dont want bad karma remove the refrigerant by approved means. itll actually free up a small amount of power. the same thing can be done to eliminate power steering, if you were so inclined. a non ps rack is adviseable but i drove a 83 gl w/o ps hooked up.

Well I was just doin it for a posible fuel economy increase, I mean any extra power with this weak motor will be nice, but I never use ac and see no reason for it to be there, I like power steering though so I think ill keep it, but thanks

so i took the belt off and my rpms are at 1000 when its been warmed up and driven, is these because the engines a little less worked so it doesnt have to try as hard, or did i mayb f somethin up?
