Why does it die on me when i roll to a stop?

Featured Replies

i have a 87 gl wagon formally an carbed ea82 now have a EJ22 swap, it runs great till i down shift out of second clutch engaged foot on the brake for a light or stop[ sign or worse yet in traffic and it dies?!?!? I've had it into a shop and they couldn't diagnose it any ideas???

Is your clutch properly adjusted? It is possible to have the clutch fork too tight, it will drag on the clutch enough to stall out.

There are also other possible problems, but that one is most likely as well as easiest to check/fix, so rule it out first!

Vacuum leaks?

If your brake booster hose check valve isn't seating that could be one source.

The check valve is just above the crimped band on the booster hose.

Or the booster itself, maybe.
