I am wondering if anyone has had that "coolant conditioner" added to their 2003 or 2004 Subaru and automatically got the warranty extension to 8 years or 100K as have the owners of 99-02 2.5L engines.

Ya, I had that done while the car was serviced for TPS problem. But if you read the "warranty" carefully, I think it covers only external leak and nothing else. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Your car is still so new they have not had many complaints yet and I bet they think the problem is cured on yours.

Mine went about 85,000 miles before it showed up and might not have if I had not looked for it.

However, what if the dealer puts the additive in "on the sly" on my next visit?

I think I will have them add it to mine on the next oil change. I really don't expect it to hurt anything as long as it stays suspended in the coolant.
