September 19, 201213 yr Anyone seen any good 95 or 96 2.2 with EGR in the yards this last week? Anyone need a good core engine, DOHC 2.5 with a rod knock. Running 141K. Shoot me and email. Lmdew2@gmail.com Thanks, Larry
September 19, 201213 yr Wouldn't mind getting my hands on a 2.5 shortblock to rebuild in school but freightg would be $$$ from Co to Va. If you want the 95-96 engine for dual port heads, stick to 95. 96 they switched to single port. Otherwise, you can expand your search up to about 98-99. Besides the interference they fit/work greatly the same. If you want non-interference, go for any 90-95 and use your 2.5's sensors and intake manifold.
September 19, 201213 yr 95 2.2l auto is the only complete bolt in with EGR. 96-98 2.2l auto needs the Y pipe to Cat flange swapped with it, but otherwise bolt in. 90-94's have no EGR port and a 2.5l manifold won't bolt up to them anyway.
September 19, 201213 yr Larry has done a bunch of these swaps. Ill watch but I haven't had time to hit a yard in weeks.
September 19, 201213 yr I think ABC Used Auto parts in Co Springs had one, but the intake manifold was off for some reason so I don't know if it had water in. They also had an integra GSR b18c with a seized cam. http://abcusedpartsco.com/ Call them and check.
September 23, 201213 yr Author Found a 96 2.2 with 150K on it in the Den UPAP and thanks to Shawn I was able to install it and get it running. Runs great, typical HYD Lifter tick untill they pump back up. Thanks for the Y-Pipe Shawn.
April 29, 201312 yr You should check this online dealer http://www.hiperformer.com/automotive to get your engine or other parts as you need. You can check their inventory with listed different car model auto parts available there. You

April 29, 201312 yr Author I have used www.car-part.com and purchased several used engines. By the time I figure in shipping they are in the 4-600 range. If I can get them at the UPAP they are $200. Rebuilts start at $1500 and go up from there. So you can see why I go used. Larry
