Popping a locked hatch

Featured Replies

I'm doing this above board, so please don't think I'm up to no good, but I found a good hatch for my wagon in a PAP in Phoenix and without a locksmith, I'm not getting it open. Is there a foolproof way to open a locked hatch from within the vehicle so I can get the parts I need? Thanks.

You might have to destroy the inner trim panel to get it open but once you do you will see how there is a rod going from the lock tumbler toward the latch that you can slide and then pull on the latch rod to open it.

I've got a trim tool. I looked at mine today--it has auto door locks so I know I have some remote hardware in there. Thanks for the info.

stick ANY older subaru key in it and wiggle while you turn it slightly.. never seen it not work.. :headbang:
