Hey folks, just joined the USMB tonight. I have a 96 OB, loaded with the

cold weather pack. I have 189000 miles and had a rebuild at 167000.m

I am having trouble seeing at night, it seems that the headlights are scratched up so much that it won't let the light shine through clearly.

I guess that's what the problem is. Has anyone had this problem.

if so what did you do about it.

P.S. my question mark key doesn't work.

any input would be great.......

Also if anybody has an outback with a lift I would love to

see a pic ------or tell me where I can see some pics.

THANKS,

PHISHFINDER

hey finder,1st of all welcome to the board, and 2nd,my dad has a tempo and i just take off the lens and soak em in bleach the shine right up,but the is a cleaner out there made just for that maybe some of the other members know the name of it or have a better tip for ya. gluck beachbum

With some searching, you can probably find posts about how to sand and polish the lenses in order to clean them up considerably.

Mine on my 97 OB are pretty dingy. I ended up putting in 100/90W bulbs. It's dicey to do so, but "most" seem to get away with it. I'd say that doing this has brought me up to about the 'same' level of light that most cars around me have. Nothing close to the true HID stuff though. You can also get a heavy duty wiring harness to go with higher wattage bulbs if you want to.
