I see where there are a bunch of post where the references to engines are listed as EA81,EA82,etc.

 

I looked under the hood of my 1990 Loyale wagon and it says LF for the engine group.

 

Can someone explain the references of the engines to me?

EA82 should be in raised lettering on top of the block, in the front, between the power steering pump and the thermostat housing.

Loyales are SPFI EA82

SPFI = Single Point Fuel Injection

 

There are multi-port fuel injection EA82's as well
