Engine light came on.....?

Featured Replies

1994 Loyale Wagon 4x4, EA82 1.8. 93k miles.

Was driving home today from Grandparents house, doing about 65-70, and the engine light came on. Slowed to 55, and about 5 min later it went out.

Does this have any specific meaning why it went on then out? Faulty fuse maby? At first I thought it meant 3k miles where up, and was time for a oil change...

I checked in the manual, said to have it checked at a Subaru dealer, yea right...

So if anyone has an idea what it could mean let me know. Ill try to bring it to my shop tomorrow and hook it up to the scanner, see what it gets.

But let me know has this happen to any of you.

It means that your ECU stored a fault code because it didn't get a reading it liked from one of the engine sensors. You'll need to retive the code and determine the proper course of action

egr or o2 sensor mine does it cuse of the mods i have done

the ecu expoects to read a certain amount of gas in the exhaust at a steady state cruise condition

so if hte egr is messing up then it does not see that and it flips the check engine light

jst blip teh throttle and it will go away

annnoying but nothing serious at least in my case
