February 25, 201313 yr With 2013 Subaru Outback, is it normal to hear a clunk from releasing the brake pedal? Doesn’t happen all the time and more consistent when releasing the pedal faster.
February 25, 201313 yr Can you describe the "clunk" a little more? Where does it sound like it's coming from?
February 25, 201313 yr my knee-jerk reaction says "no" but his question above seems the most important first step...more description? left/right/front/rear? go test drive another one and see if it does the same thing. warranty if it doesn't? Edited February 25, 201313 yr by grossgary
February 25, 201313 yr Author The sound comes from the pedal itself. Almost like it is snapping back up with nothing cushioning or slowing its return. Edited February 25, 201313 yr by Quest
February 25, 201313 yr I have a new 2013 Legacy LTD with less than 800 miles on it and it does not make any sounds at the pedal, I don't recall my mother-in-laws 2011 Outback doing it either. I think I would have noticed if it did (or she would have).
