Anyone know the difference in the knock sensors that plug into a harness right at the sensor and the ones with the built in lead?

 

I know there is only one pin up at the top of the lead but two at the sensor.  I'm thinking the other one is shielding.

No difference in the way the sensors work AFAIK. Just different plugs. Should be as to swap the single lead plug at the engine harness end to match either sensor type and it should work just fine.
