I have looked at the for sale page, but am sketchy about buying one on there. I was wondering if anyone in the portland/vancouver area or the seattle/tacoma area have any shops that have produced proven results in motors being redone or for sale. Any help is appreciated.

I know we rebuild them at my shop but a short block is $1850 rebuilt I believe. Buying a used one can be nightmarish if you don't know any of the history of it.

 

Ask about how often the oil was changed. If it was more then 3k miles or the person doesn't know, hopefully you get it for a steal as it'll probably eat oil regularly.
