Nadavka
I own a 93' 4x2 automatic 1600 cc brat with manual steering that I want to convert to power steering. Is it possible? What will it take?
Legacy777
Welcome to the USMB. I'm going to move your post to the old gen forum, it fits better over there and should get some more responses.
jj421
I'm no expert, but you'll need the power steering rack, P/S pump, P/S pulley, all the P/S lines, and a longer belt. Not sure if there's anything else.
phantomD
I'm no expert, but you'll need the power steering rack, P/S pump, P/S pulley, all the P/S lines, and a longer belt. Not sure if there's anything else. Everything bolts on. Strip all the parts from a donor vehicle and install to yours. There's also a smaller universal joint that connects the rack to the steering column plus a different thermostat housing that's longer to clear the P/S pump. As well as the P/S pulley you'll need to have the triple pulley for the crankshaft which will also involve (I believe) getting rid of the crank fan if you still have it and installing a slimline electric fan instead (I could be wrong on that point).
