I was wondering how many of you old gen lovers are located in the deep south (Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, east Texas...).

 

I'm in new orleans, and would love to arrange some sort of meet if anyone else is down here. I've tried nasioc to look for an area community, but they are mostly new gen Wrx's and cars built for the power that I'm not really into.

I've got an old soob, and am further south than all of you!  Hope you are all enjoying yesterday!!!

Funnily enough, when I first saw this post I also thought of that... Then realised they were talking about the US! You can beat me on the further south though. Just.

Yeah mint.  I'm actually from dunedin and come up every 3 weeks or so still.  Did you see that mint Leone Coupe on trademe for about $1250 or so up there?  Would be a great reliable classic starting point!

I did see that, yeah. I'm from Dunedin too, not just studying here. Did you see the RX/II that was in Cromwell? $3000, and sweet as. Owned by a wrecker for God-knows how long. Wish I had the cash. My ideal car would be a 2nd-gen touring wagon, EA81S, with a 5-speed AWD RX gearbox, 1.59 low range and rear LSD. But that's a distant pipe dream, at this point.
