Hi so I have a question about my air filtration system. I have two air filters, one on the left side of the engine bay where the air comes in, and then one on top of the engine in the filter box. Is this how it is supposed to be? Is this reducing performance?

That's how they came in 99.  Some have just a blank rectangular seal in the second one (middle).

 

I run this setup on my 86 GL with an EJ22 in it....I like the extra protection from dust.

 

Make super sure the second one is sealed in correctly, it's downstreamn from the MAF, so if it doesn't seal right the Metered air will be all wrong.
