2007 Impreza 2.5 Noisy Valves, bad lifter?

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone!

I am curious if anyone can give me feedback on a noisy valve issue I have with My 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5. I have done quite a bit of research on the issue and although I found it to be a common problem, I did not find the information I was looking for. Is there anyone out there than can tell me if Noisy Valves can be a serious issue, or make serious issues in the future if left unfixed? Most of the feedback I have been given on my car has been that I either need a Valve Adjustment or my lifter is bad. This is my first Subaru I have owned so I am pretty novice when it comes to repairs. The second part to my question is if the liter is bad or I do need an adjustment, how important is it to fix the problem right away? Any information at all would be very much appreciated. Below are videos of the noise. The noise remains constant (Stays even when the car is warm)
