While taking apart the hitachi 2bbl off an '86 brat, this little ball (circled in the photo), fell on the floor.

 

Interested to know what it does and where it goes (there's a replacement for it in the kit).

I am unsure, but on my 87 gl hitachi carb it had that little ball under the spring (looked like the one in you pic, on the side with little curl) and pump

It's a check ball on the inlet for the acc. Pump? Thank you so much for the pics.
