September 20, 201312 yr Hey all. I have a 1988 GL turbo wagon with disc brakes on the back. I'mtrying to install new pads but I can't seem to get the caliper tostretch enough to fit over the rotor. Any ideas or tips? Thanks.
September 20, 201312 yr Hey all. I have a 1988 GL turbo wagon with disc brakes on the back. I'm trying to install new pads but I can't seem to get the caliper to stretch enough to fit over the rotor. Any ideas or tips? Thanks. On the rear calipers I think you just need to use a C-clamp to compress the caliper piston back into the caliper. On the fronts you need a brake tool to screw the piston back in.
September 20, 201312 yr Author Thanks. I realized (thanks to a friend of mine) at the end of it all I miss-aligned one of the pads. Once aligned and correctly installed, I had it done no problem. Sorry for the extra post.
