Hello. I own an 88 Subaru GL turbo wagon. I'm just trying to do what I can to fix it up (and maybe make it a bit more rally-ish than stock)

  1. Don't do 6.5's in the back door though. Lots of custom drilling and cutting was required
  2. I did a full system in my car. I cut out the front door panels around the nylon looking speaker cover and put alpine type s 6.5's in with a half inch spacer. No clearence issues and (with lots of hush mat) it sounds great but I did bolt them directly through the metal of the door so its kinda a one time install.
  3. I cut the rear cat off my 88 turbo. Then i put a 3 inch straight pipe to the back starting from the rear axle. It sounds great but I feel like I lost a bit of torque. Doing it over again I'd put a 2.5 inch pipe all the way back. Before that I had a Flowmaster 40 on there. On a turbo its great till 2500 rpm...then its basically silent.

  5. Thanks. I realized (thanks to a friend of mine) at the end of it all I miss-aligned one of the pads. Once aligned and correctly installed, I had it done no problem. Sorry for the extra post.
  6. Hey all. I have a 1988 GL turbo wagon with disc brakes on the back. I'm trying to install new pads but I can't seem to get the caliper to stretch enough to fit over the rotor. Any ideas or tips? Thanks.
