Thinking of swapping 5 speed push button 4WD to 5 speed D/R 4WD.

Featured Replies

I have a 92 Loyale with a 5 speed push button 4WD. I`m not really a big fan of the push button 4WD. Even from the days when I was a Sooby tech, I always liked the D/R 4wd better. I think we all do. I have an 89 wagon with a bad engine, but a good 5 speed D/R tranny. Is it possible to pull this changeover off? Has anyone ever done it? Any suggestions? How about issues like the console, clutch, pressure plate, mounting, just to name a few. It seems to me , judging from my experiences working with Subarus, that this can be possible. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

it's easy. you'll need to switch the shifter linkage and console from car to car.
