Hello,

 

What is the i84 BODY INTEGRATED UNIT and where is it located?  Can this be changed out by me or do I have to take it to Subaru?

 

After looking at the wiring diagrams for my '06 B9 Tribeca I believe this may be my trouble...

"I84" must be one of the connectors in the instrument panel harness that plugs into BIU. If you looked it up on the wiring diagram, there also should be figures showing the harness layout and component locations.

I did want to say that BIU might a be a culprit in the problem you had, but that would be pure speculation on my part.

On the Imprezza model it is located to the right of the steering column under dash. Yours might be near the same area possibly. Once you find it, it should unplug easily to change it out.
