PCV hose size

Featured Replies

I'm talking about the hose from the PCV valve to the tee I had to remove it when it was about 20F and it just pretty much split into two pieces..

Now I do have another on another motor but I rather start with a new hose so I wont have to deal with this again.

Anyone know the size?

It's roughly 5/8".

You have to get that one from Subaru. The bend it takes is too much for the straight molded hose at the parts store, it'll just kink in the middle.

Or maybe find a 90° elbow to put in the middle.

if you are using standard hose, run enough length to get a bend radius that won't kink. Source vinyl hose FTW

I never saw a part number for the hose.. but I saw one for a 2000 outback.. with a dealer discount it was still almost $30 for the hose...

Ha, tried to take the PCV hose off the EJ22 I'm about to put in.. I figured nice 46F warm day.. well I got it off the block end and it snapped at the PCV end.. DOH!

From what I hear it has to be emission rated hose right?

Yes, it will be exposed to oil.

Some parts stores have emmission hose in bulk much cheaper than buying the boxed stuff. Get 4 or 5 feet and make new breather hoses for the valve covers too.

Funny those hoses never given me problems on any one of my cars.
