locking center diff

Featured Replies

does anyone have a diagram of the vacume hoses to the center diff mine works but its missing a vacume line and you have to switch the one line to get it to shut off

not sure if they're different but PT4WD or FT4WD?

some vacuum line routing is sometimes located under the hood...though if that pic suggest you have a new/different hood that's not going to help much.

mine is a 89 rx fulltime 4wd

There should be 2 solenoids on the Drivers side strut tower.  Just like the Single Range 5spd pt4wd boxes.

2 hoses to the diaphragm one from each solenoid.  Electrical switch turns on one or the other solenoid.  Both solenoids should be supplied with vacuum from the resevior on the other side strut tower.  Being turbo, there should be a check valve in that line too.

The setup is the same as my XT6. If you want to come by and take a comparison look, I'm just a few minutes from you.

this vac/solenoid/diaphragm system is the same for both the pushbutton single range 4wd, and full time with diff lock(rx, xt6)

The rx/GL and xt work the same but some of the routing and location is different, but schematically similar.
