ej22 exhaust

Featured Replies

I just put a tsudo cat back exhaust on my stock dual port 95 ej22. It has 2.5 piping and it doesn't have the subie rumble. How can I get it?

You need to get an unequal length header. The stock one is equal the ngth, which evens out the exhaust pulses and kills the rumble.

There are plenty of them on eBay, they're usually listed for the98-05 2.5rs, but they will fit.

Thanks and the car got 200k on it and I can't see putting a lot money into it. I just want the rumble haha. Would gutting the rear cat maybe help? From what I've seen and read online they don't make a test pipe so I figured maybe just gut the cat?

There is a track pipe made by a few different people, tsudo makes one with a resonator and another with a high flow cat, stromung does them as well. Both of them replace both cats, there is a member here subie101 I believe that offers a nice looking piece to replace the second cat only. However neither of them will do anything for the rumble you seek. That strictly comes from the header design. I don't know how much you're looking to spend, but there is a vendor on rs25.com selling a tsudo header and track pipe combo for around the 250 mark.

I assume you've got an Impreza, where did you pick up the cat back from?
