This car has been great and reliable but it has been developing a problem. It is getting harder to start and takes more turns of the key to start. When it does something behind the key buzzes. I am  thinking ignition switch but do not want to replace unless I checked k out all possible things.

Pretty sure that would be the starter relay (I think that's the relay...) just behind the starter switch (where you stick the key in). If you turn the key all the way forward like you're trying to start it and wiggle it forward and backward, it should make it easier to start.
