Crosstrek USBport does not charge iphone5

Featured Replies

2014 Hybrid Crosstrek USBport does not charge iphone5 anyone having this same issue I have tried two known working cables. Anyone have any information on this?

I would imagine that you'll need to have the keys in ignition & engine running for it to work correctly, other than that - checking with multimeter to see if power is actually getting to the port ?

Cheers, Bantum ...

Subarus with a cig lighter require the key on accessory or run position to be live. Probably true with USB port as well

What Miles said, neither of the outlets nor the USB will work without the key. (though there are no ashtrays, they are just DC outlets, one below the radio, one in the center console.)

But the OP is right, they do not charge the iPhone 5. I've seen this mentioned on the XV forums too.

It does charge and communicate with my iPod touch 4.
